He’s probably done loads of things for his constituency but the main reason I want him to stay in parliament is that you have a better quality opposition (and therefore govt) if it contains former ministers.
HEH @ the idea he would stay on as an MP. He will be in Cali in time for the new school year and almost certainly has his next role lined up already. He will have ZERO interest in being in opposition as a back bench MP.
He will have to hang around long enough for a successor to be chosen.
The good news is that the pending megamadge will mean that there will be an incredibly small pool of candidates to choose from, so he should be able to get on a plan to LA by mid-July at the latest.
