I'm Irish, I have always pronounced it haitch. Got into a debate with an English person about this a few years ago and remembered that my old English teacher is connected to me on Facebook. He has a P (haitch) D in English..
His answer was that both are accepted as correct.
So, I let it go.
Now, if only we could get them to pronounce HERBS correctly.
