Should Johnny Mercer be sent to prison?

Not for being a minister in the most egregious government this country has been subjected to for a very long time...

But for refusing to comply with a notice under s.21 of the Inquiries Act 2005 to reveal his sources for the alleged atrocities committed by our special forces?

Have you read his statement to the inquiry?  I am no fan of his - quite the contrary - but it looks to me that on this particular issue he has been treated pretty badly by the MOD and various colleagues and has unwittingly played the role of useful idiot in this whole process.  Limited sympathy as I say but I suspect there are others who ought to be just in front of him the the prison queue

no probably not tbh

sounds like a fairly trivial offence, sufficiently so that only a slavering puce faced king and country HE SLANDERED OUR BOYZZ!!! type twot would give a shit

not looked into it but assume he was on those dickish military types who considers esprit de corp to be more important than bringing perpetrators of atrocities to justice.

That certainly appears to be his default position Guy, at least until now and including on all things Norn Iron related which I am particularly interested in, but reading his statement to this inquiry I got the sense that the scales are beginning to fall from his eyes, although he can't quite bring himself to admit that to himself

I've read it as he doesn't believe in throwing junior troops under the bus to protect people higher up the chain who knew what was going on and turned a blind eye and are now trying to say it was just a few rogue operators to protect themselves.

I haven’t followed this however the narrative and cross examination of some of these public inquiries not wholly born  out by the evidence.
