So far as I was aware, it's season 2 that starts tomorrow...

I'm a fan of the books - although they are entertainment rather than high art, but we can't be reading Ulysses and War and Peace all the time - and I was a fan of the first series.

I've always been advanced for my age. 

Not sure the only alternative to Reacher is Ulysses. They may be opposite ends of the spectrum, but there are other books on the road between. 

Wagyu steak? Nah, can't be having that - sometimes you just want a nice bit of fox poo.

U do not mess with the special investigators

Like an occasional trashy Reacher to read in between more high brow books.  The Prime series are ace as you don’t have to believe Tom Cruise is 6’ 5” and able to win any fight.

I've taken a day of leave tomorrow to watch it in a oner.

Kinda liked the first season but it did drag. Basically a lightweight novel stretched into 8 hours of a massive dude smashing bad guys in the face.

I did like the bit in Ep 1 (I think) when he's in custody and when the cops tell him he's free to go he stands up and pops off the plasticuffs like they're not even there.

Good start but why have they changed the setting to NY?

Dunno. Can you get to NY by bus?

The whole point of the beginning of this book is that he gets a plane not a train.

I’m enjoying it.

Mega lol at checking into a hotel under the name Sarah Connor and then henchman asking: "who's Sarah Connor?" then cutting to Robert T-1000 Patrick to answer "I don't giva shit!". Heh. 

The guy who burns his passport - newly fitted out bathrooms, but his toilet has a proper seat and lid, but the one next door has a seat and no lid. 

I guess O'Donnell is the baddie?

Up to the end of ep2. Not sure I can do this. The dialogue is SO clunky, the acting is awful and Reacher there  is zero chemistry between reacher and the love interest. 

It’s almost as if cardboard cutout stories can’t get off the page. 

The first series was good though… I don’t think Reacher as part of a team works very well… 

Given up after 2.5 episodes of series 1

Decent enough start, but  it got really dragging, with ham acting and crap plot.

And I defy anyone to wear a 3 piece tweed outfit in the Deep South in summer.

Watched episode 3 last night and I am oot. It’s just not very good. In fact it’s crap. 

This is so bad it’s, erm, really bad. 

I’m enjoying it and to be honest the books are pretty hammy too.

It's so good. The warm feeling of imagining there might be a force for justice somewhere in the world. Nostalgia.

The big guy can't act for toffee, though I wouldn't say it to his face. 

He's also too big to do anything that involves moving his feet vaguely rapidly, its like he's set in concrete. 

He walks in oddly short steps, and like he's got a plug in his butt. Is that from the books?

The end of S1 was rubbish, but enjoyed the rest (and massive crush on the girl cop).  Good news they made another, will save up some episodes for a binge

Finished season 2. They seem to have made reacher incredibly simple minded towards the end. Maybe they were going for cüntstruck?

I've not read the books so maybe this is accurate, but he presents as a meathead Forrest Gump, whereas for most of the show before he was whip smart if a little on the spectrum. 

Relatively enjoyable series with some good action and suspense. Will watch s3 if it comes.
