THE POLITICS OF ENVY

SO SAD: WHY CAN’T THEY JUST BE HAPPY FOR THE PRIME MINISTER’S WIFE AND ALL THE PUBLIC MONEY THAT INADVERTENTLY ENDS UP IN HERS AND HER INVESTMENTS’ POCKETS?!?

Rishi Sunak’s controversial fund to support startups during the Covid pandemic invested nearly £2m in companies linked to his wifeGuardian analysis has found.

THESE THINGS JUST INADVERTENTLY HAPPEN TO WEALTHY PEOPLE WHO ARE CONNECTED TO CONSERVATIVE POLITICIANS IN THIS COUNTRY: JUST ASK BARONESS MONE!!

SOME THINGS JUST HAPPEN INADVERTENTLY!!

None of Murty’s investments that benefited from the Future Fund appear publicly on Sunak’s register of ministerial interests. Critics have raised concerns over a lack of transparency and the potential for a perceived conflict of interest given Sunak launched the scheme to help startups – a sector in which his wife is a known investor.

AND OTHER THINGS JUST HAPPEN INADVERTENTLY AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

In the context of how much money that scheme raised over all its really a negligible amount. And the government only "invested" in businesses that had survived then succeeded sufficiently to raise matched investment from third parties. So there's a v good chance the government will get its money plus xN back on these at some point.

If you're actually going to moan about this, its the ones that went bust still owing money that you need to look at.

This is pure and unadulterated corruption.

This government intervention in the economy always picks losers.  It's what we were told Corbyn's Labour would do when in government.  But it's the Tories that have ended up doing it.  Why should the government invest at all in these shitty businesses?  And yes, they are (or rather, were) shitty businesses - look them up.

"its the ones that went bust still owing money that you need to look at"

Like these ones, Amit?

"As well as Carousel Ventures, Murty also had shareholdings in New Craftsmen, which received a £250,000 Future Fund loan; Mrs Wordsmith, which got £1.3m from the fund; and Digme Fitness, which received an unknown amount over £125,000, according to the terms of the fund. All three businesses went into administration."

I don’t see any evidence of anything improper.

I DON’T SEE ANY EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING IMPROPER EITHER!!

It’s really SAGE who did this by closing the country down.

IT’S REALLY SAGE WHO DID THIS (NOT THAT THERE IS ANY THIS TO HAVE BEEN DONE)!!

"It’s really SAGE who did this by closing the country down"

Maybe the Future Fund could invest next in a litigation fund, in which Akshata Murthy may or may not have a shareholding, to sue the members of Sage for the harm they caused to all the companies in which Akshata Murthy may or may not have had a shareholding.

Sage?? I can't ...
