All right, an oldie which hardly anyone here will have ever heard of. Ghost Writer by Garland Jeffreys, quite famous in New York underground music circles, Lou Reed, John Cale etc.
It includes this song, Spanish Town, which is a bit of a jumble, but oddly haunting.
Their undisputed masterpiece, a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
Ah TSB you have nailed your colours to the K&D flag before I think? (For you - have you ever listened to Ronnie and Clyde? They just put out their 2nd album after 20 hrs or something and it’s sublime electronica)

I haven't, but am clucking for something new to listen to, so this it shall be. Cheers.
"Waking Up In The Sun" is one of THE great pop singles. Brix looking like a hot Madonna on the 45 bag.
We Are The Pipettes by The Pipettes sounds like a greatest hits compilation, every track could have been a massive hit with the proper promotion.
Will Anything Happen by The Shop Assistants spent 1 week at number 100 in the album charts. It should have spent 100 weeks at number 1. Gorgeous sub-Velvets Edinburgh indiepop.
Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk is what Radiohead want to be. Although it's probably not 'lost' given it gets loads of critical acclaim.
Whirlpool by Chapterhouse is a pearl (heh) in the shoegaze crown, Slowdive get the plaudits because they're still around (and Rachel was THE hottest woman on the planet circa 1991) but this one runs them close.
24 Years of Hunger- Eg and Alice. Early 1990's album recorded in Eg White's kitchen. Just amazing.
Hats - Blue Nile. Got a lot of recognition in late 80's early 90's but two follow up albums never surpassed Hats.
Memory Man - Aqualung. No idea why this wasn't a huge hit.
Best Day of My Life - Tom Odell. Just found this. Found his stuff to be quite irritating but his latest album is very introspective, subtle and more than just a bit melancholy.
I saw Cud at Manchester Uni on the way back from a match at Elland Road after we missed the last train back to London and went to Manchester with some m7s instead

No Line on the Horizon by U2. Massively underappreciated, it’s a stone cold classic.
The best of the Beatles.
Bat out of hell
Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions
We Didnt Say That! (2000), by Daphne and Celeste.
Their undisputed masterpiece, a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
Under the radar albums:
The Associates: The affectionate punch
Home: The alchemist
It bites: Eat me in St Louis
The Go! team: all of them!
The Comsat Angels: all of them, but particularly Waiting for a miracle
Nick Lowe: At my age

I was discussing this with Mr D the other day. Graham Coxon’s solo album Happiness in Magazines came up. Love that album
Always - Thames Valley Leather Club
There aren't many lost albums left now. They used to be so much easier to find.
Steel Pulse - True democracy
I haven't, but am clucking for something new to listen to, so this it shall be. Cheers.
