If you had to live in Edinburgh, where would you recommend for a 2 bed flat? Somewhere that is good/equally inconvenient for the university and Waverley station. Many thanks.
I have a place under 10 minutes walk from Waverly. Pretty convenient. Note that like london there is a ulez zone in the centre, but the fines are far more punitive
Dux - you are playing non-standard Monopoly. Jail just stops you moving - it doesn't prevent collection of rent. It's quite a good place to be late on in a game.
I was quite old when I read the real rules (or more exactly looked at a youtube instructional on the real rules). The auctioning of a property that the player lands on but declines to buy, in particular, is a revelation.
Freinds put up a 2 bed for rent in Marchmont last week through some agency. All viewing went within 5 minutes. Rented to the second couple, who offered 2 minutes in the door (and offered a heavy % over the rent). I know of a law firm that changed trainees seats, as they couldnt get anywhere for their trainees to stay.
Also, unless you are in the City, you are not going to get viewings.
If you can afford it, get a specalist agency to deal for you- some of those have specalist agreements with agencies.
my daughter lives in Scotland St. appropriately. A jammy New Town spot. But that is a way away from the university. She quite likes that. Work in one place, walk or bus home, feel like you are somewhere civilised when away from the faculty or libraries. Most others grab Marchmont.

If I owned houses in Hell and Edinburgh, I'd live in hell and rent out the place in Edinburgh

I think Hell is like "jail" [sic] in Monopoly. You can't collect rent while there.

Yeah is this to rent or buy? Rental market is dead in Edinburgh because of the crazed ideologues in charge.

House rules make a game soooo long.

I played Monopoly with the actual written rules a few months ago. It took an hour to finish and was genuinely fun rather than a miserable slog.

Marchmont I guess. There's a pub there, the Earl of Marchmont. Was OK when I went. Near the Meadows too.

Anyone who plays standard monopoly rules is a disappointment in my eyes. The approach should be
