I think my bosses don't know what to do with me because they know that they can't use partnership as a carrot, and they likely also have a sense that the stick of firing me isn't going to be effective either.
But then I also don't know what to do with myself ...

Mine acknowledged that I don't want to go for partnership but is quite happy for to keep on doing good work and billing for it and also introducing a chunk of the work I do. I think I'm probably still the highest billing senior associate in the department which helps.
