Former Golden Turd Plexus has cancelled planned salary hikes two days before payday.
Salary reviews and bonuses were scheduled for May, but management at the PI firm informed staff this week that they were being "withheld" until July. It comes as sources divulged to RollOnFriday that the firm has laid off staff at its London office. And in Croydon, where it has quietly closed the branch entirely.
A Plexus spokesman said, "a number of the facts you have are incorrect". But would not explain which, or how. Instead, he said, "all details relating to the employment of the firms staff are strictly private and confidential and our policy is that we do not comment on such matters".
As part of the larger Parabis group, Plexus won the Golden Turd in 2014. Parabis subsequently collapsed, Plexus was sold to a group comprising several of Parabis' original managers and it looked as if the firm might have turned a corner. In the Firm of the Year 2017 survey a trainee said, "You won't actually believe this but things have really improved since the takeover". But now a senior solicitor's comment that "fee earners are all in the same boat so we have a communal understanding it's shit" may better reflect the mood.

Internal communication has been clear on this. And raises will be backdated, so no problem there.
Check again in a few weeks, but for now: Fake news. So sad.

Happy with that: Yep. As the article points out, been a lot of changes, lots to sort out. People are busy. It'll come.
If it goes tits up, I'll happily eat my words and come back to acknowledge your wisdom.

"I love working at (insert Law Firm here)" said no one ever in a PI fee earning role.

The typos from the "Plexus" people suggest they are not being written by solicitors (who tend to be more careful - words and grammar being their stock-in-trade): capitalisation after colon (09.14), "short them down" (12.14) "I know whats going on" (12.24) and "senior solicitor's" (grocer's apostrophe 12.56). I wouldn't employ someone who made any of those mistakes in an application letter.
