I have just discovered that Jay Kay has, for all this time, had 'canned heat' in his heels and not confectionary treats procured from one of the American money-laundering establishments on Tottenham Court Road.
To say that I am devastated doesn't even begin to cover it.

Likewise to learn that Lana del Ray was in fact down at the Men in Music Business conference rather than [GARBLED SLURRING] has come of something as a surprise.

Similarly I discovered Anne-Marie was bidding someone farewell in Italian and Spanish rather than asking them to shower the horse.

Does Sue Lawley have any comment to make?

It's great the way she sings that song though, Fosco.

Yes! And I liked that particular line so much I was compelled to google it so I could sing along properly in the shower.

Yes thanks, I did know that.
Also the title of the rollicking read by Malachy McCourt: "A Monk Swimming" is based on a misunderstanding of the benediction of Mary by (the angel) Gabriel: "Blessed art thou amongst women"

The title track is an absolute masterpiece too, as is the video for it. Might be the best thing she's ever done, imho.

I’d always thought she’s so popular but it just turns out that it is jeux sans frontières.

I was always quite shocked when Kate Bush said to Peter Gabriel that, at his lowest ebb, she sang there was no reason to be a sh*t.

Agree that the lyrics sound ambiguous when you hear them, but given that Canned Heat is literally the name of the song it couldnt have been that much of a surprise could it? 🤣

One song I did get wrong as a was "Forever in Blue Jeans", by Neil Diamond. I thought he was singing about a hippy vicar called Reverend Blue Jeans.
Not misheard, but as a kid, I always marvelled at the plaintive brazen-ness of "If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" by the Bellamy Brothers.
I'm sure he didn't mean literally "hold it against me" lol, but the ‘70s were obviously much more permissive than today, so one never knows.

Peter Kay had a whole sketch on this.
"I bet you kiss your cock at night" in Shania Twain's That Don't Impress Me Much, being one of the highlights.

To.be fair Canned Heat is literally the title of the song
From the same song though... I always heard it as canned heat in my heels tonight Big Ben. Why he'd be singing to a giant clock I don't know but it sounds like that
