Freshfields has suspended a number of back office staff after discovering irregularities with supplier agreements.

This week RollOnFriday learnt - and tipped off the world* - that several staff thought to be based in the firm's IT department were under investigation. Although the firm could not comment on the subject of the inquiry, it's serious enough that the staff in question have been asked to stay away from the office. RollOnFriday has heard that five staff have been suspended.

A spokesman for the firm said that Freshfields was "investigating possible questions in relation to supplier arrangements in one of our business support functions. No client information or funds are involved and no conclusions have yet been reached". Although commenting that no client monies had been involved sounds like a bit of a conclusion.

Freshfields' back office. How it may look.

The investigation continues, but you know what to do with any more details that emerge.
