CMS Cameron McKenna is the latest firm to become the proud owner of its own theme song.

The soft rock masterpiece sums up just why Camerons lawyers are so good at their jobs, as well as describing the thrills of legal life. The song opens with the unforgettable line of "How do lawyers feel - when they do a deal?". Well, sort of sweaty, normally. And then it descends to ever more desperate depths.

RollOnFriday's favourite lines include:

• CMS is best - wooo-ooooh - better than the rest!
• Monday I'm in Frankfurt, Tuesday Barcelona. It doesn't make me blue 'cos I love what I do.
• That's what we are, we're lawyers with passion!

And to show just how passionate they really are there's a full on instrumental break of 3 minutes 20 seconds. The entire thing goes on for nearly 5 minutes and if you've got the stomach for it you can hear it here. Although it's still not a patch on Nixon Peabody's song that they tried to hush up in 2007.

A Camerons partner yesterday

A spokeswoman for the firm said that the lyrics had been penned during a team building event at a Partners' Annual Meeting a few years ago. Which would seem to suggest that "team building" in Camerons' language actually means getting really, really drunk.

But more bizarrely, not only did the partners write these lyrics, they managed to persuade a Belgian musician called Jean Bosco Safari to record the song for them. Now that is suffering for your art.
