The Team
Your work will be varied, high quality and complex, supporting our clients in all aspects of IT projects and technology and data law. We have particular strength in the mid-market and differentiate ourselves by offering best in class service with a combination of partner and director-led expertise, strength in depth and value for money. With a varied work load, you can expect to become involved in all or any of the following technology matters:
- Digital transformation. IT outsourcing projects and telecoms
- Software and technology licensing
- Fintech
- Cloud computing
- Cyber and data security
- Data Protection and ePrivacy
- Big data
- Artificial Intelligence
- the Internet of Things
- Smart contracts
- Digital Media, including virtualisation and digital content
Key clients includes: one of the world's largest suppliers of cloud IT services, technology vendors across a range of sectors, including Energy, Transport and Cybersecurity, and emerging companies and disruptive organisations in the technology sector (including in the Fintech sector), As well as advising technology vendors, we also advise businesses operating in the utilities, transport, financial services, insurance, healthcare and retail sectors, as well as public sector clients, on issues relating to their procurement and licensing of technology, ongoing data protection compliance and on their digital innovation.
Responsibilities
- Building the Culture: You'll deliver service excellence on all client matters and participate in cultural initiatives that underpin life at the firm.
- Delivering Results: Achieve your personal objectives and be aware of how to focus your contribution to support the firm's overall aims. Plan, control and resource matters effectively, delegating where appropriate and monitor delivery.
- Growing our People: Actively contribute to the development of those you have responsibility for. Establish your standing as an ‘expert' in your chosen area / sector. Identify and take advantage of opportunities to broaden your technical / client experience.
- Developing our Business: Deepen your understanding of client needs and expectations, identify opportunities to lead CRM activities, build you own network and cross-refer work where appropriate.
What you'll need
- Relevant experience working on technology transactions and regulatory data protection matters
- A strong with team player, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage a complex and varied workload effectively
- Experience of leading others to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Must be a SRA or Law Society of Scotland registered lawyer
