The Publishers Association is the member organisation for UK publishing, representing companies of all sizes and specialisms. Its members produce digital and print books, research journals and educational resources across genres and subjects. It exists to champion publishing to the wider world and to provide its members with everything they need to thrive.

The Publishers Association’s members are at the heart of its mission. It brings them together; provides them with the information they need; seeks solutions to problems; and campaigns to achieve them. It has helped change laws, improved business conditions and inspired people to become publishers. It is passionate about the capacity for books and reading to make life better for people.

The Publishers Association is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to build upon and develop its Content Protection and Enforcement work.  Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be at the forefront of anticipating and responding to some of the biggest issues facing the publishing industry.

As an astute strategist and quick-thinker, you will deliver first-rate advice on tackling piracy across all publishing sectors, evaluating piracy threats and identifying opportunities to tackle them.  You will drive forward and co-ordinate enforcement action on behalf of member publishers and lead on the collection of evidence and statement drafting processes. Your work will also support the Publishers Association’s wider copyright and legal policy activities.

You will be a great communicator: keen to represent industry interests, manage external law firms, and maintain excellent relationships with members, stakeholders and government.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the expansion of the Publishers Association’s Content Protection and Enforcement work and to ensure that it is recognised throughout the international publishing community.

Based in Southwark Street, London, with hybrid, flexible working, and the option of working 4 days a week for the right candidate.
