The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Environment team in Auckland.
This is a great opportunity for kiwis looking to return to New Zealand to a firm where you will be supported to achieve your own definition of success, and to a role where you can make a real impact.

You’ll be working with a diverse range of corporate, central government and private clients from numerous sectors including infrastructure, industrial, healthcare, property, forestry, and retirement villages, and many more. The team are involved in a broad range of work including planning and consenting, submissions on draft policies and plans, environmental compliance, monitoring and enforcement, regulatory compliance and advice on new legislation, climate change and sustainability issues. The team also work with our property, corporate and banking and financial services teams to advise on the environmental implications of property and corporate transactions and undertake all specialist environmental litigation. It’s a very happening space in Aotearoa – a huge change to grow your skillset and have an enviable lifestyle too!  

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate will be NZ-qualified and have:

  • 7+ years’ Environmental law experience (at least some of which is NZ experience)
  • a desire to mentor and support junior and intermediate members of the team
  • able to work autonomously on files, and have strong technical, written and analytical skills
  • litigation experience would be a plus
  • drive, enthusiasm, and passion for delivering excellent work to clients.
