Mid-Senior Associate - TMT (Cyber Security & Data Privacy)

Our TMT Group is part of the Corporate Practice and looks after the corporate needs of clients operating in the TMT sector and these relationships across the firm. The Group also focuses on core products for clients across all sectors, including business process and IT outsourcing as well as complex technology arrangements and business separation agreements.  Furthermore, Data, including cyber-security, is an increasing priority for our clients. •            a central bank on its cybersecurity exposure and risk mitigation strategies

•            a major technology client on a global cyber compliance programme

•            an international bank on its European data privacy compliance programme, including steps to address the EU General Data Protection Regulation

•            e-commerce company in relation to disputes concerning liabilities arising as a result of website payment system cyber attacks and compromises

•            Jaguar Land Rover in relation to the development of robust cyber security policies and procedures 

GDPR

•            a major car rental group on the implementation of the GDPR

•            a media conglomerate and its affiliates worldwide as regards compliance with the GDPR

•            an international bank on its European data privacy compliance programme, including steps to address the EU General Data Protection Regulation

•            NTT Data on multi-jurisdictional (including GDPR) personal data issues regarding its global business competition

Data privacy

an online marketplace on investigating alleged data breaches, responding to regulator, public relations and managing communications

•            many international clients on their data privacy compliance strategies when establishing new European businesses

 

•            Microstrategy on its customers’ personal data issues regarding the launch of its new cloud services business.

Key responsibilities:

Lawyers in the group have the opportunity to gain top quality experience across a diverse range of cyber security and data privacy including :

- Outsourcing, IT, telecoms, HR and business process services;

- Protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights;

Key requirements:

We are seeking a mid to senior level lawyer who has outstanding experience within the Cyber Security and Data Privacy space.  

In all cases you should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach, excellent drafting and communication skills and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team. You should demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills along with a high level of commercial awareness. You will have an exceptional track record, probably gained at a City firm, or at an overseas common law practice with a highly regarded profile.  A strong academic history is essential. You will need to demonstrate a strong track record of leading transactions. Financial Services experience would also be advantageous.
