Business Development Executive

Overview

To provide Business Development and Marketing support across all practice areas in the London office (Mergers & Acquisitions/Private Equity, Private Funds, Banking & Finance, Restructuring, Dispute Resolution and Transaction Specialists).

Liaising with Partners and Associates, as well as working with other support teams in the London office and the Global Business Development Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating pitches (including drafting key selling messages, compiling relevant experience and tailored biographies), often to short deadlines
  • Preparation of client research briefing packs, independently as well as working with the Information Centre, and identifying opportunities and areas of strategic fit
  • Assist with writing and preparing practice award and legal directory submissions
  • Deal tracking and recording to ensure the timely capture of announced deals in London, as well as reporting to league tables (Mergermarket and others)
  • Supporting internal communications initiatives
  • General administrative tasks are a key part of this role, including keeping team infrastructure up-to-date (including maintaining a record of pitches, research packs, new/closed matters etc)
  • Assist with ad hoc project work as required

Skills/Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a Business Development/Marketing function, preferably in a legal environment
  • Knowledge of Interaction and Vuture
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy
  • Hands-on attitude, with flexibility to turn to a variety of tasks
  • Good team skills, resilience, ability to work in a team environment and with Partners and Associates
  • Good written and oral skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Self-motivated with the ability to juggle a number of deadlines
