Race from London to Paris for Breast Cancer Care

Breast Cancer Care is challenging the legal sector to race from London to Paris and back– all from the comfort of their own office! The cycling challenge will take place in early October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To raise money to support the 55,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, teams have just two days (9th and 10th October) to cover the staggering 1,000 km distance from London to Paris and back again on office-based exercise bikes.

Racing to cover 1,000km cyclists will be battling it out for the following coveted titles:

  • Tour de Law Champion (firms get points for both speed and their fundraising total. The highest points wins the title)
  • Tour de Law Fastest Firm
  • Tour de Law Pink Jersey (fastest cyclist)
  • Tour de Law King & Queen of the Mountain (fastest cyclist on a high resistance)

Sarah Pugh, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Breast Cancer Care said: “Tour de Law was so successful last year we’ve decided to make it an annual fundraising event. It’s the perfect way for busy colleagues to raise money for a great cause while having fun! We’re really excited to see who will win the prestigious title of ‘Tour de Law Champion’ for 2013!”

In 2012, six law firms took part raising over £10,000 including Ashurst, Baker & McKenzie, Charles Russell, Eversheds, Ince & Co and Simmons & Simmons.

Breast cancer is now the most common cancer among women in the UK. All the money raised through Tour de Law will enable Breast Cancer Care to provide free expert information and professional support when it’s needed most.
