If you're at law school or university with a future Linklaters trainee, they're buying tonight. The firm has confirmed it is increasing its GDL and LPC maintenance grants.

Links-bound students who join the LPC after 1 April 2013 will get £7k, up from £5k, to splash on booze 'n fags during their seven month course. A not-inconsiderable 40% raise.

GDL students outside of London will get £7k, up from £6k, and those in the capital will get £8k, up from £7k. Simon Branigan, Links' grad rec partner, said "We want to attract the best people, no matter what their background...we are aware that many of our future trainees cannot rely on financial support from their families and we are keen to support them".

As well as enjoying the extra money in their pocket, Links students should check out the firm's patented all-nighter simulator.
