Will you vote for the Brexit Party?

I will, not least since Lord Adonis has said not to vote Labour if I respect the referendum result.

3m EU citizens, 16.1 remain voters at the last referendum + all the kids we're told are now going to vote remain. How can the Brexit party possibly overcome that?

oh yes, cos the EU has been *so* mean to the plucky brits, sticking to what has been said from the outset, offering a deal that the british themselves have negotiated and not granting one single unicorn

OH; HOW QUICKLY THEY FORGET WHAT THEY OWE TO BRITAIN

What Stix, Wang and Linda said.

Quite a lot of remoaners have changed their minds in light of what has passed since 23 June 2016

"In light of what has passed since 23 June 2016", such as Brexit going absolutely swimmingly and none of what "Project Fear" predicted coming to pass? Oh wait... obviously not.

I've seen a lot of people posting from completely anonymous social media accounts saying that they voted remain and would now vote leave. I've also seen a few thickos who can't work the privacy settings on their Facebook profiles claiming to be former remainers despite having shared "I'm voting UKIP" and "'Vote Leave" posts before the referendum.

What I have not seen is a single credible person in real life who genuinely seems to have switched from remain to leave.

Funny eh.

You do realise that phones and other forms of communication still work, right?

I'm sorry but these vast swathes of people who voted remain and would now vote leave do not exist. I'm sure there are a handful somewhere, but in general terms this is not a phenomenon that is actually happening, and implying that it is smacks of desperation.

The only way it would be true would be if lobotomies had been made compulsory since June 2016.

There was a Marina Hyde piece recently lamenting the fact that Remain was at 58% but the Remain parties were an uncoordinated shambles allowing the Brexit Party to lead the way in the polls. It is a rather odd result.

Anyway, I am going to see exactly who my candidates are before I make any decision about who to vote for.

It is, but if you add the Change UK and Lib Dem votes together you get an indicator of remain support, vs Brexit and UKIP for leave. The Tory and Labour votes would be too mixed.

All you people who are proposing to vote for this party - you know that they are actually refusing to publish a manifesto until AFTER the elections, yes?

You are literally thinking of voting for some slogans rather than any sort of formulated policies?

And you think that’s any good as a response?

This is a party that doesn’t even have a detailed policy on the issue that it is named after, let alone anything else.

But what are you standing for?

If you don’t understand that how can a person even vaguely pretending intelligence possibly stand let alone ask others for their votes?

On the plus side, we're not jerking off to compilations of Anna Soubry's Commons speeches.

Heh!

Strutter it's a pure protest vote for most. If you want Brexit to happen you certainly don't expect the elected MEPs to stick around.

There was a piece in the Economist about the nature of the PR system for the Euro's not helping the Remain parties at all if they do not co-ordinate matters. The Brexit Party will hoover up the leave vote.

Chuka on Newsnight last night was a right ass. I originally thought he was a twot, then he grew on me, but last night he basically was very evasive on co-ordination. All about Chuka, Chuka. I suspect that was always the case.

strutter, neither labour or the conservatives have paid any attention to their 2017 manifestos. I'm not interested in manifestos. FAOD, 99% of voters have never read a manifesto

Change UK and Lib Dems need a deal - in areas of the country where Lib Dems already have MPs Change UK should not stand, and where they don't, Lib Dems should stand down and let Change UK have a go.

I can’t believe that I even need to be explaining the point of manifestos.

Yes, parties do stray from them (often forced by events) but the purpose they do serve is to give people the opportunity to see what a party purports to stand for at a given moment in time (as opposed to guessing as is the case here) and then having a measure against which to hold the future actions of that party.

hey dux, even people who used to socialise with you now think you are retarded and avoid you, but you are unimpressed

the retard worries about climate change and votes for the brexit party

hey dux, even people who used to socialise with you now think you are retarded and avoid you, but you are unimpressed

He's never got into a fight in a supermarket though.

It is about as obvious as Theresa saying ‘Brexit means brexit’.

They have avoided any sort of detail because they haven’t a scooby what to do and know that as soon as they do start putting any substance on the slogans then they are dead in the water.

BLUE PASSPORTS AND PINK UNICORNS TO FLY PEOPLE TO HOSPITALS!

There, that’s the brexit party manifesto basically.

fook off if you think I’m voting for what is essentially nothing but a bunch of racist rhetoric and an aching rose-tinted desire to return to the years of empire.

"hey dux, even people who used to socialise with you now think you are retarded and avoid you"

Er...really? In the unlikely event we have any mutual acquaintances, I'd be intrigued to know who you have in mind.

You are literally thinking of voting for some slogans rather than any sort of formulated policies?

To be fair, that is exactly what 17.4 million people did on 23rd June 2016.

Revoke Art. 50 now.

Brexit is a fantasy for idiots who ignore the lessons of Dunkirk, of the Blitz, of Singapore and of Suez.

We are a small, cold island offshore Europe with next to no natural resources and a population we cannot feed from our own agriculture.

We are in no position to go it alone.

Quite, Lady P.

It became a running joke in the leave campaign.

’What are we campaigning on next week?’

’Turkey, boss’

’And the week after that?’

’Turkey again, boss’

’Well done’

if lleave is still as big and powerful as it used to be, why do brexiters not want a second ref? what's not to like, you will only be vindicated and brexit will be confirmed ?

just saying… but as Dominique strauss kahn said, the british must now leave, and quickly

Adonis has completely backtracked on that 'don't vote Labour if you're a remainer' thing BTW

"I am deeply sorry for off-the-cuff comments I made during a live LBC radio phone-in last September. I encourage all voters, whatever their position on Brexit, to vote Labour in the upcoming European Parliament elections.

In our dangerously divided society, Labour is the only political party seeking to bring remain and leave voters together so that we can get on with the job of ensuring our country works for the many, not the few.

Labour has always been clear that it respects the result of the referendum. What we do not respect is the way the Conservatives have sought to use Brexit to create a more unequal economy and a harsher society.

That is why Labour has put forward a sensible alternative plan that would ensure a close economic relationship with the EU after Brexit, based on a new customs union and dynamic alignment on rights and standards. If such a plan cannot be secured due to the government’s infighting and irresponsibility, we believe all options should remain on the table, including the option of a public vote.

I do not believe that the real divide in our society is between people who voted to remain or to leave the EU. The real divide is between the many, and the few. As socialists, we must stand up for the many.

I am extremely proud to have been selected to stand for Labour in the South West of England for the European Parliament.

A vote for Labour is a vote for so much more than just Brexit. A vote for Labour is a vote for a more prosperous, fair and united country.

what did abbey ever do at all, is the question. did he and people like him ever do anything else than pursuing their own fun and distraction? has abbey ever sympathised with any political or charitable cause, let alone do anything to further such cause?

I know what you post on here. you are like that couple in woody allen's "Mary hall": "the key to our happiness is that we are absolutely not interested in anything or anyone"

except that you aren't happy

did he and people like him ever do anything else than pursuing their own fun and distraction?

Is there anything actually wrong with only pursuing your own fun and distraction? Genuine question.

dunno, I had this/several conversations with my GF

her: "I don't understand your involvement with the green party and why you go to demos. you care about stuff like that and not about our holidays"

me: "sorry, but it's the other way around, maybe you should start caring more about society and nature and not cocoon yourself in our private life, cos if everybody does that, things will go t1ts up pronto, especially now"

she now says I am right and watches the news and goes to vote

If I’m not interested in something, I don’t pursue it in the slightest.  Like watching box sets, for example, but I don’t criticize those who do.

So Abbs is sick to death of politics and doesn’t feel any passion about charity.  I fail to see the problem, he shouldn’t be poked about it, it’s just his choice.  I’m sure he has plenty of activities (like collecting Chinese antiques and freezer/grandfather clock/fish tanks) that I’m not interested in.

Live and let live.

do you want to give up on it? or is the problem maybe that not enough people cared and that those who shouted the loudest were spreading misinformation?

doesn't in particular brexit teach us that the moment you leave the playing field to others, you are fooked?
