where do you go to read?

in bed I fall asleep

in a chair at home I feel weird and aware of myself

best option is a cafe that is relaxing enough to stay all day in but the coffee is also nice (i.e. not starbucks)

I fall asleep when reading in bed, too.

I generally read in my living room but I have khunty neighbours so peace and quiet is a rare commodity.  I am moving soon (to a detached house) and one of the things I am most looking forward to is to just “be” in my own home without intrusion from ignorant twots and their revolting children.

Me too.  They and their bastard landlords (its a BTL, hurrah) have suffered terribly in my imagination.  I have sketched out a revenge short story as somewhere to put my negative energy.

strutter is a dick with no empathy and I pity the people who have to live around him

I remember once having bad neighbours and someone on here recommended a supersonic gun of some sort. Loved this idea.

not automobile, clubbers?

I am totally with you on that one dux.

Just imagine laz trying to bluff that he has 8 aces, chambo carefully explaining that there are in fact only 4 aces and Lydia telling everyone that aces are a male construct

Don't play poker with me because if you're winning and go to the loo I'll help myself to your cash on the basis that you don't entirely know how much you've got and won't miss a bit and I've probably lost all of mine.

I like reading in bed especially in the morning at the weekend.  Otherwise lying on the sofa is good or somewhere outside on a sunny day.

There were a couple of rof poker games chez montie back in the day.  me, monts, b*, eugenie, shafty and sherrif iirc (apols if i have missed anyone - possibly nexis?).

i lost...

shafty drank all monties posh plonk

Once at home, I got caught short and demanded that my sister brought me something to read, and she gave me Physics Word, exhorting the "funny" bit at the back Lateral Thoughts.  I did not have a satisfying poo.

Bed, bath, garden if my self-absorbed neighbours (but we're PARENTS! We're SPECIAL! Children must be FREE TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES!) aren't dominating every moment by allowing their shrieking brats to scream non-stop and bang the fence.

Only time I really read now is poolside or on planes.  I probably only get through 5 or 6 books a year as a result.  I do weirdly miss the two hours a day of reading time that commuting in London used to give me.
