What are the DUP talking to TMPM about ?

ffs

DUP (like the ERG) need to be convinced if they don't accept deal, we have two years delay and very soft or no brexit.    I think the ERG will be so convinced and cave but I would have thought the backstop issue was actually more important to the DUP than brexit.

Probably advising them to prepare for a Corbyn/ McDonald regime

and get ready to expect the six counties to join the Republic

i get the impression the press are now using old stock photos to illustrate the story, oh look, here’s TM on the dispatch or going to brussels, isnt that how her hair looked last month?

on 31 Dec when they do the review of the year it’ll be identical pics with diff dates

It doesnt help that stormont isnt sitting.  If I was NI-ish I’d be fuming (even more) about this.

The power the northern irish loony religious right have over this country's future is absolutely fvcking mental  and an appalling failing of the constitution and our electoral system,.

I think her hair looks the same every day, Minkie.

Are the bags under her eyes getting bigger?

If I were Northern Irish, I'd be quite pleased that my area was getting a bigger share of govt spend. I doubt the average man agonises much about stormont

As we stand at the moment, 10 DUP MPs can decide whether we leave the EU with May's crappo deal or not.  It's hardly believable.

What I don't get about the DUP is why they are so keen on brexit anyway.   It was always going to cause problems that could ultimately lead to reunification.

I don't think they're exactly the sharpest tools in the box, Guy.

It's as if no-one noticed there was a border between NI and RoI until about 6 months ago.

Was their thinking really as crass as leaving the EU makes Northern Ireland more different from Ireland and therefore more likely to stay separate?  Surely nobody is that stupid?

They are a right-wing, socially conservative, British nationalist party. The supported Brexit in the same other right-wing, socially conservative, British nationalists did. They consider themselves (and NI) to be as British as Finchley. That that is not the case is neither here nor there.

I remember emailing my local DUP MLAs the day after the referendum asking them to confirm the result would not jeopardise the Union. After wading through the spelling and grammatical errors in their replies, their view was it would strengthen the Union. I think the penny may have finally dropped.

Essentially, yes. They believe the EU is a Catholic/socialist project- see Ian Paisley's protest when JPII addressed the European Parliament in 1988.

Anna to me it looks like she has been crying, those bags.

although i exoect she stopped crying a few months ago, now surely its just eye rolling
