I do like Elon Musk's(?) rules of meetings tho. No admittance after start time, 20 minutes of silently reading the papers and (IIRC) a fixed finish time
Against meetings in general.
Wot Chuffy said.
That's Amazon's rules for meetings.
I've realised we have a cabal of non-lawyer aunts at the top of our organisation that wouldn't exist if Powerpoint and meetings didn't exist. None of them appear to do any actual fooking work.
they're probably too busy inspiring you :)
Works for the Privy Council
I’m pro meetings. Ditto conference calls. They’re not the answer to everything but we have gone to the opposite extreme and it is now very difficult to get everyone in one place to discuss stuff.
I don’t mandate stand up meetings but I like them. Sitting down a lot is very bad for you in merabolic and musculo-skeletal terms and I am determined to do materially less of it henceforth
Laz are you one of those types with a 'look at me' stand up desk?
Stand up to Zoom
No I’ve got a normal stand up desk. What does the “look at me” kind do? Sounds intriguing
Cookie: I always do
I am against all meetings, sitting standing or otherwise positioned.

hehehe
Standup desks are for clerks. Hth
Zoom and Teams are easier if you need to get a group of people together to discuss something. Stand up meetings would certainly discourage the organising of tedious internal meetings and would also encourage others to say what they need to say succinctly.
What the fvck is a “clerk”
Non plussed about standing or sitting but am def with Amazon in banning Powerpoint.
What the fvck is a “clerk”
Heh.
Sounds like someone does his own admin, eh readers.
There were loads of clerks in law firms when we began Laz. The corporate ones who would do the trips to companies house. The litigation ones who knew more about procedure than any partner.
I think there were even reasearch ones in the library who would occasionally interupt your snoozing
Stand up meetings?
I don’t know what type of fresh hell that is, but I know that I want no part of it.
Against. Tw@t-wafflery of the highest order.

Clerks are much better value than juniors, fyi.
I was an articled clerk.
