Speculation on what the new deal is

Have remainers been shafted and Ireland has agreed to build borders at its costs or waive everything through because Boris (in hanners dreams) is such a handsome fellow

Have brexiteers been shafted by the two sides agreeing to place N Ireland in the Customs Unions, DUP getting a vote in 2025 (and not before) to leave CU subject to Stormont's final approval and with the possibility that N Ireland can enjoy the benefits of Customs Union and the other trade deals of the rUK. If that is the case, it is a given that Scotland will demand that too.

From the look on Varadkar yesterday Bodger has just thrown the DUP under the bus. Which let’s face it under any other circumstances would be a cause for lollapaloozas.

Looking forward to what Pelosi says.

Pelosi will take the hint from Varadkar. But I think Boris has thrown DUP under the bus. He has probably secured some extra labour votes here.

It would amuse me to see DUP thrown under a bus - seeing their screwed up angry little faces after losing the whip hand would give me great pleasure.

DUP under a bus. Expect CU and SM, but with an NI-wide vote to step out of either.

Presumably this would need quite a few Labour votes to overcome DUP/ERG voting against. I reckon may need referendum attached to it to get it through - would drive the ERG and DUP nuts - excellent if true.

A ref would be democratic, that’s never going to happen.

So will there be the numbers to get it thru parliament - suppose the DUP/ERG vote against (or abstain), even with the tory "rebels" back on board, woudl there be enough labour MPs supporting it?

Nonsense. Why would they have any chance? The ScotchNats aren't gfoing to vote for it anyway, and their border is with England not with an EU country.

Odd no leak except that DC will have realised he can’t become the story, and so has STFU. Leaving the Irish and the EU to speak, hoping Bodger gets to claim victory early next week.
