Ski wear

Appreciate this is the worst time possible to find bargains, but is there anywhere good to look in London for reasonably priced ski wear?

It's just got to be good enough to survive red runs in the Alps for a week, not the Canadian back country. Don't want to have to spend £300 in Snow & Rock on a jacket I'll wear for a 5 days every other year.

Does that warrant a ffs? I'm happy to go to Decathlon, I asked the question because I didn't know about them.

TK Maxx is a good shout, do they stock ski gear in all their stores or particular ones? Can't say I've ever noticed it.

There should be some new year sales on currently and Snow and Rock had some bargains round Black Friday for stuff that I think was still left over from last season.

As Anna said you can also head to a big Decathlon and kit yourself out cheaply.

I usually for a ski jacket that isn't too obviously a ski jacket and which can also be used a winter coat when it's wet to get maximum use.

Sorry for the ffs. Go to Decathlon (there are a couple of big ones in London, try Canada Water) and marvel at all the cheap and lovely kit you can get there.

Decathlon. You’ll match lots of people on the slopes in the Alps in their stuff. Ha! The amount of kids I saw in identikit Decathlon all in ones last week was hilarious.

as a halfway house I would suggest go to decathlon for everything except the jacket. You can pick up half decent trousers and gloves and thermals etc pretty cheap, then spend the rest on a nice jacket

Phoebs, I was in Decathlon and Aldi ffs. I don’t care as long as I’m warm. Just find it funny how popular Decathlon is. We’re obsessed with the place in our house.

there's a bunch of ski wear shops just south of covent garden + snow and rock to the north of covent garden.

the answer to your conundrum obviously is to do a lot more skiing

Now that’s just harsh bike boy - there is only a distance of about 400 yards from the station to Canada Water Decathlon and most of that is clear, broad, well lit and with numerous escape routes.

There are no reasons that a large, well equipped party can’t get in and out with only the lightest of losses.

All available in charity shops.  All fine. All quite new.  Presumably put there by relatives of people who died in apres-ski pissups.

No idea why anyone would buy it new unless loaded / very fashion victim.

Ffs don’t buy all new ski wear just to go skiing for a week, that is lunacy

cant you borrow a jacket and ski pants from a friend?

Buy some uniqlo heat tech layers and get a good pair of ice breaker thermals. But borrow or charity shop buy everything else!
