No mow May - lawn I'm fed up

Sick of this silly new fad and the endless BBC and Guardian tripe about it..

Who'd have thought lawnmowers would become part of the culture wars.

Twice a week is excessive tbf

My neighbour downstairs seems to have done no mow March and April and now doing no mow May

I am trying to do a compost heap this year, after a very bad smelly start from just putting loads of coffee grounds and food scraps down I think I've actually fixed it just by adding some carbon stuff like old BBQ ash and newspapers .

Smells better and actually looks like compost now

Thing is I can tell what wildflowers are coming from looking at my neighbours gardens which are in various states of unmown

It's nothing that exciting tbh. Dandelions and buttercups and such like.

I've started a no dig bed to get rid of some of my excess grass and grow veg and tbh planning more of that. A lawn is of no real benefit

By virtue of fvcking no show gardeners all month I will have taken part in no mow May and have also got a new hot gardener coming so every cloud.

next door the virtue signalling carbon nobs hve a very short lawn this month - tsk

I enjoy it Tom.

Enforcing your will and order on nature is part of what being a modern human  is all about. See agricultural development since we moved on from being cave-dwellers.

Lovely stripes and good exercise. What’s not to like?

A thousand flowers bloom. We cast off April's gloom. Let Qualcast in his fewter stay, until the merry month of May has sighed her last.

That daisy-patterned tomb. Death's scythe it will come soon and fast her beauty fades when June is past.
