My neighbour downstairs seems to have done no mow March and April and now doing no mow May
I am trying to do a compost heap this year, after a very bad smelly start from just putting loads of coffee grounds and food scraps down I think I've actually fixed it just by adding some carbon stuff like old BBQ ash and newspapers .

Lovely stripes and good exercise. What’s not to like?

I’m mowing 2x a week at present.
Feck the woke pillocks who want an untidy greensward.

Given that I have two carefully cultivated wild flower meadows I’m happily mowing.

If I let mine grow for a month, then when I did mow it, it would be a stalky yellow mess. Sorry bugs but I'm not having a shit lawn

Thing is I can tell what wildflowers are coming from looking at my neighbours gardens which are in various states of unmown
It's nothing that exciting tbh. Dandelions and buttercups and such like.
I've started a no dig bed to get rid of some of my excess grass and grow veg and tbh planning more of that. A lawn is of no real benefit

I'd like to give up completely tbh. Better for the bees and bugs. These suburbanites getting their little nail scissors out make me laugh.

this might explain why the people who mow the verges etc on our street haven’t been round for a while

Our rear lawn, which is in our care, is an immaculately trimmed triangle of fuzz

A thousand flowers bloom. We cast off April's gloom. Let Qualcast in his fewter stay, until the merry month of May has sighed her last.
That daisy-patterned tomb. Death's scythe it will come soon and fast her beauty fades when June is past.
