Anyone caught it when it was at the National Theatre? It's transferring to the West End; am debating whether to go.
I love The Crucible and have seen it several times over the years, including with Willem Dafoe as John Proctor. I'd snap up some tickets if I were you, PP!
I read it for GSCE and remember finding it a bit dull. Which tbf I think was more about me being too young than the play - I glanced at it again the other day and it looked pretty good.
But I did take away from it what hysteria and a witch hunt looks like. And you see similar around us today. It should be mandatory reading.

I saw it on NT Live with Erin Docherty in it. It was excellent (uncomfortable) viewing and she was the best thing in it.
She plays a good ‘unhinged’, generally.
They were all framed.
The movie was on Talking pictures TV at the weekend. Not a bad production. Winona Ryder as Abigail and My Left Mohican as John Proctor.
