Michael Gove cocaine use admitting he has done it several times lol!

He speaks quickly enough when he hasn’t taken any gear , can you imagine.

There was a piece in the times about this saying party members living in Clapham or Putney won’t give a toss but those living in a Hampshire village will be mortified and look very dimly on it

I for one think so what

Its all about hypocrisy ebitda - teachers get banned from the profession for life for taking cocaine - so how can one argue one is fit to be PM while throwing people in prison/barring them from their profession for exactly the same thing?

Because he deeply regrets his actions.

DeeplyRegretsHisActions

Deeply.

Fair point grant. He should withdraw, his arrogance generally is astonishing. Looks like a coronation for boris

"eachers get banned from the profession for life for taking cocaine"

really - i assume you have links to comparable stories to back this up.

Why don't you google it? It was a policy under Michael Gove as education secretary

"michael gove teachers ban cocaine" brings you up plenty of links.

No Linda an actual case where a teacher who took coke years before they were a teacher and who was then banned for life when this came out would be a comparable story.

HTH

???

i also googled for a picture of the no alcohol signs. It’s funny that the only one I could find was that picture that only can be found accompanying the Sun ‘exclusive’ on Abbott and has clearly been taken on a train, not a tube

wibble are you honestly saying it is not hypocritical to write an article  advocating a hardline on cocaine users and overseeing banning teachers for life for taking it while having taken it yourself and then proclaiming you are still fit to be PM on the grounds that people should be forgiven such a mistake?

Yes I read the links about teachers being banned from teaching for using and/or possessing drugs.

you asked for evidence that a teacher had ever lost their job in this way ^^ there it is.

*All* of this is part of a sweep to ensure a coronation for Boris.

Watch - all the others will fall one by one, whether by 'voluntarily' withdrawing or otherwise, until Bozza is left with him or a no-hoper as the last two.

So mote it be.

The more interesting question is who's really behind it and why do they want Bozza in.

Don't mention Darius Guppy before Boz is safely in, obv.

Guy I know you are dim but please try to think.

There is a difference between being in a profession and breaking the law and doing a thing that sets a very poor example to your students - and - doing a thing before one is in that profession and that thing coming to light years later.  And the correct professional condcut implications of those two things?

Does that help or should I draw you a picture?

I don't think Bozza would choose to open this particular box of tricks myself  I think he is on pretty shaky ground himself.

I don't think Bozza's choosing anything in any of this.

Wibble, you think that distinction is very important.  It isn't.   I would also draw your attention to the article Gove wrote about how middle class drug use should be cracked down on.  If he had advocated a more liberal policy in the past, or event just kept quite on the subject, then maybe not a problem.  But to actively advocate a tough line and then plead forgiveness for exactly the same thing and say you can still be PM is appalling hypocrisy.

Oh look those goal post just shifted masssshooovly m7.

heh

That article was published the day after a party at which Gove and his friends took coke. He's admitted this.

No you're shifting the goalposts.

This is what you asked for

"teachers get banned from the profession for life for taking cocaine"

really - i assume you have links to comparable stories to back this up

And what is what I posted

joey face,....

No Linda an actual case where a teacher who took coke years before they were a teacher and who was then banned for life when this came out would be a comparable story.

How have I shifted the goal posts?  You are making a massive tit of yourself by trying to defend the indefensible, I can only assume out of blind partisanship.

Wibble, Gove considers taking a class A drug an extremely serious offence, he has made this very clear.  Out of interest, what level of misconduct do you think is necessary to disqualify somebody from being PM?

So much stupid.

I think he is a dick, your comments about teachers and this was wrong though. soz m7

Are you some sort of trollbot?

I commented on your wrong point about teachers which is wrong.

At no point have I defended him as a person, hes a cock.

Try harder. please.

wibble, it is quite clear what happened- without bothering to look it up you found it hard to believe that teachers were banned for life for taking concaine (see your first post) when you realised your mistake you tried to cover it up by making up some distinction which is really not very important to anyone but you.  You have been pwned.  Now just pipe down.

Oh god not again.... jesus.

Why why why are you so people so fucking thick?

Wibble look at the original quote and then look at what you said, why would somebody need to back up a correct statement with evidence of something else?

I would be very concerned if my child's teacher was getting off their face on Class As. I would not be remotely concerned if they had done it a few times in the past and hadn't done it for 20 years.

I think the distinction wibble is making is blindingly obvious to all but the blindly partisan.

And, yes, Gove is a cock.

Are you really so incapable of accepting you are wrong?

the above is my first comment on this thread you loon.

DO YOU HAVE COMPARABLE STORIES TO BACK THIS UP?

no.

If was PM and got caught snorting coke - then yes sack him.

DO YOU SEE YET?

Why did you say "really?" to the original quote that drew no distinction regarding when the teachers took the cocaine?    If you had responded "yes, but are there any examples of teachers being banned for taking cocaine before they became teachers?" your position would make more sense.   That only came later when you realised your mistake.

It also astonishing that you think people don't understand your argument - of course they do - but they don't think it is an excuse for his hypocrisy.

I recall why I left rof.

Stupid people too full of their own shit to ever accept a mistake who go on and on and no.

So weird.

This sounds like Trump's review of ROF after a weekend visit:

"Stupid people too full of their own shit to ever accept a mistake who go on and on and no.

So weird."

Just needs "But I absolutely loved it and highly recommend" at the end.

It's all just a bit sad really isn't it?

You do a bit of coke when you're younger, but regret it.

You kind of have to keep up the charade of disapproving, which is  consistent with what you actually think but is hypocritical.

20 years later you get wind that someone else is going to blow your cover (pretty horrible of them really).

So you then have to admit it but downplay it a bit and try to navigate through all the hypocrisy and "you're lucky you're not in jail" stuff.

But you inevitably come a cropper because for some people it's just a no-no regardless of age/regret/passage of time and, if they don't get you, those who can't stomach the hypocrisy do.  Doesn't bode well if you're a disliked little twat anyway.

Then you've got that other twat BoJo pretending that he sneezed it away or it might have been icing sugar.  (Fuck's sake)

All of which is taking away from the bigger point really which is why people like this are tempted to do it (with all the known consequences for them and others) and how we stop it.

wibble, a word to the wise, the more often you accuse people of being stupid as a means of argument (with you practically with every post), the less force whatever you are saying has.

A bunch of people have wondered why all the candidates ahve come out with these stories.

I have seen it said (twitter, but by someone usually sensible) that Johnson is running a behind the scenes dirty tricks campaign, threatening to out everyone's skeletons.  This is apparently denied in the most stringent terms, but these revelations are consistent with trying to get ahead of the threat - come clean voluntarily and claim honesty as a virtue, rather than be outed by Johnson.

Johnson.  He's like someone rolled a tvrd in straw.

Then again, though.  Gove.  Gove is what they threw away after satan had liposuction.

I see we’re back to the old rule that going into politics means you can never change your views.  Is it so far fetched to think that someone who tried drugs whilst working as a journalist might then go into politics and spend time in a ministry where they are forced to look at drugs related crime stats and the like and then revise their opinion to decide that drugs are in fact bad?

I certainly did stuff when I was younger that I thought was fine at the time but that I wouldn’t do now for various reasons.

Anything that stops Gove getting into No. 10 is fine by me, tbh.

All of the leadership contenders are woefully inadequate to be leader, let alone PM, but Gove is the worst imo - he's like the oiliest school snitch / teacher's pet ever. Fvck that to represent this country on the world stage.

Someone (anyone!) with gravitas, genuine life experience and bigger aims than getting the job for the power it brings, please.

Some hope.
