Looks like I called it....

JRM will not accept this nor will DUP

May's deal is dead.  - Tick

No deal will be rejected.  - Tick

We will delay.  - Tick

We will end up with an even worse fudge than we currently have and be having this exact same debate in May.

what an utter pile of festering crap this government and opposition are.

BOOM

The reason is that if they don't agree one, we are forced into no deal (there is no other option), which they don't want even more then we do not want.

There will be a delay - unless the morons vote May's deal in today. Which I don;t think will happen but it wont be as huge a majority as the last two times.

If those spineless motherfuckers vote through the deal on the third attempt I think riots should be in order.

I think bercow will prevent it

and then run off into the sunset cackling

If the deal does not go through we are looking at 2 year extension for total rethink which will presumably require us to agree either to remove Mays red lines, a referendum or the very least a general election.

No deal will not happen because nobody except a few on the extreme right want it to.     A50 may well be revoked before that happens because the government and parliament does not want to be responsible for inflicting economic disaster.

The only reason they are more opposed to no deal than we are is because we are fucking morons and they are not, not because it will harm them more than it harms us.

Whatever happens we have fvcked up any goodwill we had with our Continental European colleagues. I have some long standing Dutch, German and Danish friends.

I feel like apologising to them for all this sometimes.

Absolutely chambo - whenever I am in the presence of Europeans I find myself being the  English version of that Harry Enfield character  Jurgen - ‘I must apologise for my country’s behaviour in the war’

TBF, most educated Europeans don’t follow politics and (while polite) think we are pretty odd anyway even without Brexit.  Bad clothes, overweight, drinks too much, monoglot and money-obsessed are some of the things they are too polite to say.

I live in Europe and work with them and certainly from my point of view it is a massive exaggeration to say that we have destroyed the goodwill we had with the continental population. Yes, the political class in Europe may be a bit tired of the whole thing, but ordinary people aren't really that bothered.

Dal Segno if you think we wear bad clothes, are overweight and drink too much you really should see the people around Belgium, Netherlands and Germany where I actually live. There is a reason I don't do clothes shopping here and think their beer is evil (but very tasty evil).

I’m the only Brit in an office of 12 people

they think we are mental but don’t really care that much

What Tom and Queenie said.

No other country is obsessed with Brexit.

Bercow doesn't cackle.  He gurns.  And giggles.

Has Chambers ever been right about anything at all ever?

"TBF, most educated Europeans don’t follow politics"

Wut? And does this constitute the opinion of an educated Brit?

"...and (while polite) think we are pretty odd anyway even without Brexit.  Bad clothes, overweight, drinks too much, monoglot and money-obsessed are some of the things they are too polite to say."

You're painting with a pretty broad brush here m8: I'm guessing these are just the Europeans who've been to RoF drinks.

I assumed he meant they don't follow British politics. Which they sort of do, but only to a very limited extent.

I’m still thinking no deal most likely be that happens in March or June . Assuming we get a short extension, TMPM is going to do what with it ? There are no more negotiations to be had with the EU, she will never offer up a GE or second referendum, parliament will never in a billion years agree to a two year extension.

given all of the above it is doubtful whether all 27 member states would agree to an extension of any kind. For her to get the extension she’s going to have to do some serious bullshitting.

I hope that they refuse an extention because I am SO BORED of this shit and the idea of them doing it all again in a few months is such a depressing idea.

Europeans not bothered? They are now getting there... it’s just too much. Comments are more and more derisive and more and more protagonists are getting attention, e.g. dyson moving to Singapore, that other wanker to Monaco

ebitda, I am surprised you still misjudge parliament - the one thing they will not allow in a billion years is no deal - that is the one and only thing there is a clear fixed large majority on -  so they will agree to whatever it takes to avoid that - including a referendum if necessary (although I think the most likely thing is the removal of Mays red-lines and a re-negotiation)

Personally I think DUP and ERG are now understanding this and will end up supporting the deal.

Guy , TMPM will ensure Brexit happens no matter what , even if the majority of parliament don’t want it ,the vote on this is not binding. So if her deal is not acceptable then she will plough Ahead with a no deal brexit and say fuck You to the house for not accepting her deal.

Besides the power in a sense has been removed from parliament, because unless she can convince them the time will be well spent in ages offering an extension no deal is the default position. I just don’t see what she can achieve in a 3 month extension that she wasn’t able to do before.

If those spineless motherfuckers vote through the deal on the third attempt I think riots should be in order.

I could not have put it better myself.

Guy, do you have an idea of whether May's deal will pass if ERG and DUP support it and all the other MPs who rejected it still reject it?

tbf tho isn't passing it better than not at this stage? I mean I would rather cancel obvs but it seems that we are in a lemming formation that cannot be undone. So I would favour a parachute

if all tory and DUP vote in favour they have a majority of one or two, I think?

I thought a short extension would be needed if May's deal passed.  If it doesn't a much longer one will be needed.

It don't agree ebdita, May will not push through a no deal brexit with half her cabinet and the majority of the house against her.  We will see.

On the extension point I imagine a vote to extend by 2 years would be crucified by parliament, no way would they vote for that .

Clergs, I think if the deal doesn't pass, and only no deal is left on the table, they HAVE to give a referendum or just revoke A50.  So I am hoping it goes that way.  It's a gamble, but I think it's worth it.

I would like if this happened. I am worried the turboloons will prevail tho.

Ok it fails and then they revoke. That will be what I envision.

I don't know. I'm so lost about where the hell we are right now.  I'm just clinging to the hope parliament stays strong.  But I really don't think they will, the leaking sheepwanks that they are.

🤢

Never used that emoji before.

Fair comment tbf.

I can't see the emoji on the laptop.  I'll check on my phone...

Nurof still shit from a tech POV...

Quite often. Until this moment I think I'd have spelled it boke but now feel this is wrong.

I have no clue, I got it off you!  Probably not in the Oxford English dictionary...

I just checked and both spellings are acceptable! Phew.

Phew!  Dunno where I got the other one!

I think they have different connotations though.  I think boak (harsh, vom, yuk) is different to boke (just sounds a bit Saffa: not actually as bad as people make out).

Still on track for a mystic (s)meg award on this....

except that I think JRM and perhaps DUP are coming around to support the deal...(although probably will not be enough)

Burcock just made this pretty much a certainty now.

Still 100% correct on this.

Next?

who the fuck knows.  BUT

it will not be a 2nd ref.

soz m7s

I used to agree with you that an unholy fudge which pleased no one was easily the most likely Brexit outcome

but given the complete inability of the govt and parliament to do anything at all I now think that a no deal crash out on the 29th is about equally likely

I do not disagree given the current events.

50/50

deal passes, short extention then fudgefest

OR

no deal mad max armegedon.

Lady Penelope15 Mar 19 10:01

They won't give us an extension for no reason.

Rhamnousia15 Mar 19 10:26

I think bercow will prevent it

and then run off into the sunset cackling

Looks like Clergs and I both called this.

WTF picked Bercow to be speaker?  he is a terrible little scrotesac.

Despite what Yuri and Svetlana may have told you 3-Dix, Bercow is one of very few adults in the room.

If you think bercow is an adult in the room you ahve a very twisted view of reality.

He was correct in this call - BUT he is a vile little cunt

EU should just say no extension apart from one to GE and ref or earlier ref, conditional on mandatory voting ref on leave/remain and deal/no deal, and agreement to not serve another article 50 notice for 10 years if remain.

JRM will not accept this nor will DUP

April then, not May.
