Eversheds have always been very decent whenever I've had to deal with them in PP or in house, and useful that they can call their mates up in just about any country and get a quick answer.
But agree if you work with the right teams there you often get a very good service and real technical expertise as well as commercial nous. Just a bit of a curate’s egg law firm.

They’re nice people usually.
The problem I have found is that “very competent” and “very nice” seldom (but not never) coincide.

DWF I have also found to be competent, commercially sensible and user-friendly. And (like ES) cheap as chips.

Norton Rose were a plague of locusts as oppos. A very polite plague of locusts it has to be said.
Which I guess makes them good in the context of litigation.
