I’ve made a new friend

He is 89 and loves feeding the ducks and birds in my local park. Great addition to my life. Really smartly dressed all the time, and a true gentleman. I’m going to invite him round for a roast one Sunday, if he would like to come and meet my family.

I mean I say friend he probably tells his friends he has met a bright red tomato face trying to get fit in the park.

Wasn’t there or isn’t there a nice charity where you can offer a place at your table on a Sunday to someone who might be lonely? A meal at a happy table could really lift someone’s spirits. Maybe something for ROFFERS to look into.

Sadly, he said his wife died many years ago and they didn’t have children. But he’s very happy and kind. I like him. He had inspired me to be more kind and optimistic. So for that alone, I am fortunate to have met him.

I think your approach  is far preferable to a charity Miss T.  Who wants to accept an invite to somebody's house overtly offered out of charity?  Making a friend in the park and inviting them back is great though.
