Fact. There are plenty of insects. Pollenation is happenng. There are plenty of crops. There is more food on this planet than ever before. Fewer people are going hungry than ever before. Act now. And carry on as we are because it’s working REALLY well. Fact. #ExtinctionRebellion

The extinctionRebellion pees may be hmongs but this is an epic level of Stupid.

I think I have a claim to this when I tweeted that it's a major design flaw that we're never actually 'around' when we're 'enjoying' a good night's sleep.
Altho the above is pretty epic too.

"Worldwide, a 2014 summary of global declines in biodiversity and abundance estimated a 45 percent drop in the abundance of invertebrates, most of which are insects. And many individual species and species groups are declining or even being threatened with extinction"

Sadly multiple international studies say the same thing.

I would not disagree - until today I have never heard of her. But she seems to be a talk radio version of Prickface Morgan.

JHB needs to visit Africa and Asia - the interiors (not the sw**ky Marriott) of the country to get a flavour of the direct effect of climate change.
Retard, she is.

JHB is highly intelligent and capable. I knew her long ago. It’s such a pity that she has devoted her life to promoting stupid and mistaken ideas.

ugh. the wilfully ignorant who revel in what they think is plain speaking common sense - dumb. does she think that the scientists involved in the various projects evidencing an enormous reduction in insect numbers are all part of a conspiracy? or what?

i was reading that apparently the impact of insect decline is really difficult to predict because all sorts of studies have suggested that wild fluctuations in insect populations are normal year on year and even extreme losses don’t appear to have a meaningful impact on pollination BUT it seems there is a sudden tipping point in insect numbers, where if they fall below that threshold it goes from absolutely fine to total ecosystem meltdown
and nobody really knows what that tipping point is
dunno if it’s true but I think it was in the Economist letters so it must be
