If Johnson is giving away NI will he get rid of Scotland too?

Being that Johnson has basically agreed to give NI to Ireland / EU and the everlasting contempt for tories north of the border, will Boris just give the SNP what they want and concentrate on a "greater londonpore" strategy?

really though

tories are quite London centric and race hate the scots (I mean, see your own posts) and there is no real reason to keep 60 votes against the government hanging around westminster

My perhaps hopeful view is that gove  the size of the Tory majority unionism will rise in importance compared to an ideologically pure brexit and we will get a relatively soft Brexit to save the Union

don't understand why we don't just go EFTA, team up with switzerland and norway and mercilessly wage economic war on the US and EU. I mean, are Newcastle tory voters really going to run to UKIP if a bunch of Leichtenstein people move to Sunderland?

but them I'm a strategy game player and not hamstrung by sentimental imperial bullshit and yank frotting

Just happen to be the lot who stuck by us during two world wars, whilst others sat on their hands, refusing even the use of their ports ( given back to them only 2 years previously) leading to the death of 20,000 British seamen)

Bernstein you do appreciate harbouring grudges about something that happened when everyone involved is dead is insane don’t you?

Like slavery reparation campaigns?

About 2% of the NI population are members of the Orange Order.

Weirdly it's global. They even have members in western Africa.

eg

Pride - yes - I don’t agree with slavery reparations - but I think this is more a way of arguing for more money to level the playing field between races now than about bearing grudges against dead men.  Presumably though you are in favour as you seem to believe the sins of the father visit the children

you posted that immediately after a dig at slavery compensation (which was paid to slave owners so why not slave families?) with no shred of irony

slavery compensation (which was paid to slave owners so why not slave families?)

YES,BUT THE SLAVE OWNERS WERE BEING DEPRIVED BY THE STATE OF THEIR PRIVATE PROPERTY: ITS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

Sumo  re slavery compensation the reason is that children rightly do not assume the debts of their parents.  Holding guilt and accountability through generations is an appalling precedent to set.  By all means spend extra on African American communities if they need it to be given a level playing field but don’t call it reperations

Always laugh when Catholic Irish talk about others "harbouring grudges"

'‘a united Ireland clearly makes sense for all but a tiny band of loonies. ‘

Ulster was never part of Ireland whilst clan chieftains were fighting each other
