When you smell something it’s because a tiny particle of that thing has become airborne, is inhaled by you and detected by receptors in your nose. So every time you pass a smelly toilet you are ingesting someone’s poo. Every single day a small amount of your friends’ and colleagues’  poo is being metabolised by you. We are all partly made of poo.
