We had this 30 years ago and generally referred to it as Summer.
Whatever next, health alerts at the airport that you might be jetting off to somewhere with a dangerously hot climate?
Will we get an alert on our phones? Exciting times!
The bbc weather app has shown almost every day this week to be clear sky all day and 20 degrees. Reality is patchy. These people are just lying to us so they can’t be blamed for the next Darwin winners.
I do enjoy how these seemingly (to anyone who is not a total mentalist) harmless health alerts wind up all the right people.
27 degrees and thunder storms all day
Climate change serving up random things
Period of hot weather followed by thunderstorms...just like pretty much every year since the dawn of time.

It has been exactly like that in Central London. Maybe a little less than 20 early and late, but yes - clear sky with lots of white cloud.
We never had 30C when I was a kid. You’d celebrate and go swimming if it got past 20C.
George ii territory. Three fine days and a thunderstorm.
I am definitely in a different climate than the one I grew up in. It’s crept up on me but I have to say there would have been no way my main purchases would have been swimmers in early June.
Funnily enough this spell of low 20s sunny days (which I find extremely pleasant) is more akin to the summer weather I remember from childhood. In recent years we have not had many days like this lurching from crap wet and grey weather to 30c plus heatwaves depending which way the wind blows.
This weather is lovely, make the most of it.
