Not directed as just Harry and Megan but why are companies willing to pay £000,000s for someone to give a speech? What is Harry going to say to a bunch of JP Morgan customers that would result in the bank making a return on its money?

I think it's more the fact that there are people who will turn up to an event for the glamour of rubbing shoulders with Harry who wouldn't otherwise show up and you can then get business from those people.
I have no idea though how they justified £750k rather than the more usual tens of thousands people charge.

I think this is weird and who came up with that figure? I don't know why they're such a draw. He's thick as shit.

After another few of Harry's 'poor old me' speeches even the great and the good of the Wokeset will get heartily sick of the fellow and his rapacious spouse...

Sails its pennies for JPM, they will just look at it as oppurtunity cost. Otherwise your first para is spot on.

Imagine being paid by bankers to talk about the trauma over the death of your mother, knowing that the (only) reason you're being paid is so said bankers can say "Prince Harry was at our conference".

"What is Harry going to say to a bunch of JP Morgan ..."
Harry n Megan can provide top of the range "royal tag" with pleasing appearance in client meetings / events on a retainer basis. Plus opening three offices in Asia will draw its own crowd.
bankers' lives are equally empty and ordinary - as those of lawyers.
