Grace Kelly

Was watching a movie with her (on my new favourite channel, Talking Pictures TV) - she was quite extraordinarily beautiful, wasn't she?

She is up there with the very few stars who are so beautiful, it almost hurts to look at them, like staring too hard into a bright light - see also Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor, in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, or Paul Newman in The Prize.

Just thought I'd mention it, like.

From the silent era, Louise Brooks.  Defined an entire look.  And could do so much with her eyes and face when that was the be-all and end-all of what an actor could do.  Smouldering and murderous and captivating and enveloping.

From early(ish) talkies, Teresa Wright, who was also a tremendous actress.  Had the girl-next-door look to a tee.

From today, Kim Tae-ri.  I mean...good God.  Also Agata Trzebuchowska and Jessica Chastain, pre-Raphaelite aetherial archangels.

I was surprised to see Beyoncé crowd surf on her back in this tour film from 2010, I thought she was too much of a megalomaniac. But she’s stunning, even though now heh she’s praising Michael Jackson erm. That energy, every night, it just drains you watching tbh.

Anyway, Julie Christie lives (partly) in Hackney, She’s a proper star.
