A good friend of mine

Why is that when celebs are interviewed and they mention another celeb they always have to confirm the other celeb is a good friend of theirs?  Can you imagine if we all started doing it?

So I was in the pub with Bob, a good friend of mine, and he said Colin, a good friend of mine, is on holiday in Spain.

Musicians do that all the time, mainly because they all know each other. And generally respect each other, so you get the likes of Johnny Marr talking about Noel Gallagher, Jimmy Page, Brian May or Paul McCartney.

Completely different music, but something in common.

Same with us.

It would look like pretty much any post by ebitda.

And I’m proud to say he’s a very good friend of mine

I always take it to be code for "we've been pissed together"

I've always assumed it means they walked past each other at an awards ceremony or briefly shared a green room somewhere.

I took it to mean the same as when politicians say 'my esteemed colleague' when in reality they mean 'the #*$! sat across from me'.

I don't think it means they are good, close, dear or any other type of friend. It's just somebody they share an occupation with and compete for jobs against.

Or Tecco, when talking about Tory politicians.

Or Tecco, when talking about Tory politicians.

Or anybody mildly famous

Its because the money makes them super paranoid, and they don't actually have any friends, but it convinces them that they do if they say that they do.

Whether it convinces the rest of us is irrelevant.
