Gillette

And they call lefties snowflakes. ROFLMAO

There’s a certain category of person who gets riled by this sort of thing.

massiveLOL at that category of person

Genius marketing tbf.  Get the exact people you are criticising to run your digital marketing for free.

It's a good ad.  Baffling how some people are offended by it.

Nike did something similar with the Colin Kapernick campaign.  They know which way the wind is blowing and how the demographics are changing.  This is as much about building brand loyalty with the next generation as it is about marketing for now.

And they also know that more than half of the outraged tweets are from bots and a lot of those from humans don't buy their product.  They also know that boycotts won't last.  If anything it'll boost their sales - a bit like all the non-vegans who bought vegan sausage rolls so they could throw them away as a protest.

It's a good sign in many ways.  Big commercial concerns don't dabble in social issues unless it is to their benefit.  It will also give their female shaving products a huge boost.

And I'll fight anyone who disagrees with me.

I just saw the ad, but without sound

looks like daft #metoo-style bullshit, but no need to get angry

The ad just asks men to behave in a way the vast majority always have done. The examples of toxic male behaviour are not part of mainstream culture.

So it’s set up a bit of a straw man to knock down innit.

Nowt to get angry about - it just falls a bit flat

Piers Morgan is a boil on the bum of humanity.

With his daily platform for punting out the most divisive and childish of populist cant, pandering to all the aspects of nature that should be resisted.

Piers Morgan is a boil on the bum of humanity.

THIS ^

I hate that ad.  It emphasis' one behaviour.  it's as bad as saying "men are" and putting every negative feature against them.

Spoiler alert... the overwhelming majority of men don't need to be told not to be arseholes... after all women helped raise them ;) , adverts like this tar everyone with the same brush and make poor behaviour seem more normative than it is.

It's  a feckin' advert.

We're all talking about it.

Job done.

Well it’s going to ring true for people who want it to be true that men do the things the advert says they do. Mentioning no names, but there are one or two rofers who’ll love it, what with them being self-anointed nice guys who tell women they are allies (but woe betide any woman who decides she has a say in who her allies are)

ok I just saw the ad with sound on, it is irritating and superdaft

I shall ignore and continue to shave using gilette blades

If I could buy industrial-quality razor-blades that did NOT come from a big company, I would.  I hate them all and I see no reason why I should pay for anything but the factory, the workers, the machines and the transport to my house.

The whole superstructure of management, branding, advertising, politics and cant adds precisely NOTHING to my shave.  And pays a lot of well-off people to be aggressive, bullying, waste-of-space arseholes in marketing offices (mainly to one another, but that's not the point).

"people to be aggressive, bullying, waste-of-space arseholes in marketing offices"

you forgot "coked out"

otherwise, wot he sed^

I now feel more inclined to buy another razor tho. I won't as I am too lazy to change my razor set up but more inclined

kinda what Doggers said and Panda in his first post.

How is the substance of this ad any different from making one telling all Muslims to step up and take responsibility for terrorism or one telling black people to do the same with gang violence and muggings?

It’s sensible really.  Just trying to appeal to women.

Because women are the ones who do the shopping.

*runs like buggery*

Ah, poor men. Will we ever stop discriminating against them?

The bien pensants have never forgiven Morgan (previously deemed "acceptable" as the editor of a left-wing newspaper) for advocating Brexit...er, even though he voted Remain.

This is quite interesting.  One might expect polite society to frown upon the exploitation of suffering or of a related political cause purely for commercial gain (moreso where the commerce is unrelated to the suffering/cause).

I like it when my deoderant looks like a hand grenade.

I shall continue shaving with a Gillette razor as I've tried some alternatives and they were crap.  I signed up to Harrys shave for their package for people who shave once a week and got a blade that could barely manage a single shave.

I like the add

I would have made is a bit shorter myself, just had a big screen saying "Men, Man the fuck up"

I hope the next one is 2 minutes of telling grown ass men that it's not okay to cry when you don't win a reality TV show

because that's the conversation we need

i think it is a great advert. will be swapping to gillette from wilkinson sword asap.

but also whot sumo said. They could have shortened it to: "men, don't be dicks"

Back when I broke my wrist I used Rof brains trust to choose an electric and honesty haven’t looked back.  Just give it a bit of a woodge around my face everyone and again and it’s fine.

Wet shaving is reserved for posh nights out now.

Yes ??? I shave on the first day of the working week and then that's it unless I've got a particularly posh meeting or the like on a Friday when I might have a second go.  Shaving every day killed my face.

Strong winds when out sailing keep blowing all the bumfluff off ;)

More a case of the beard keeps you warm and offers protection from the spray.
