Freemen on the land

I met one of these in court as an NQ. Mortgage repossession.

Apparently the proceedings were issued incorrectly as the all-caps name on the claim form referred to a legal fiction, and he was appearing instead as a flesh and blood man. He pointed out that he had arms and legs, his blood flows etc. Something about how an order against his legal fiction wasn't valid against him as a living man.

Whilst hilarious, this lunacy went on for over 30 mins and I'd agreed £100 inc VAT to be there as an agent. Fun times.

Interesting. I am a bit sceptical of the idea that large nations can't effectively tax these companies though. I think they absolutely could they just lack the political will to do so.
