Fashionista woes...military coat

There's only one item I'd like to purchase right about now, and that's a military style coat; that is a military green/olive colour coat styled in the manner of a military one. It's got to the point where I've started looking for second hand original authentic ones as it seems there aren't any decent ones on the modern market.

Any fashionistas come across any nice ones?

Thanks @Scylla: therein lies the problem. They look great, but lack of material (too straight), no military style jackets and too expensive for what they are. I may have to go the retro route and dry clean a second hand one...

@Chambers: Thanks. Checking that out.

or.. European flea marke with second hand clothes sections. The sales peeps have already done the sorting to get the good stuff.

My most recent find was a fully reversible brown lamb leather and sherling, three quarter length coat in the Thieves market in Lisbon. 40 euro.

I'm guessing it's from the 40's from the design. In great condition. Still trying to find somewhere I can get it properly cleaned here though.

@Scylla: oh wow, your coat fetish pretty much matches my shoe fetish! But I've been trawling everywhere for ages for an authentic military coat. There appears to be a company called Loden...swiss or swedish...I like them. The Ralph Lauren coat is stunning but I can't go for the slimline coat on account of all the layers I tend to wear under it in harsh weather.

Military surplus stores are everywhere in America. My favourite one is in Portland, Oregon (I'm a regular visitor there for family reasons). They have an old army helicopter hanging from the trees outside. Interesting.

Everything from Arctic gear to desert warfare clothing, all clean and pressed. They sell guns too.

Waterloo army surplus, somewhere on The Cut over there. They probably don't sell guns though. Especially to unpredictable Scots ladies. Nice name change half way through the thread btw.

I'm going to guess that you are tall and slim then given your requirements.

Unfortunately, I'm shortish and to put it kindly I have an 'exaggerated hourglass figure' without the boobs.

This means I have to go slimline and fitted in my wardrobe to highlight the waist or I just look like a large square block.

Hence loose, flowing or bohemian type looks just do not suit..
