Eng v Sco

Here we go, then…

Can anyone please explain why we have kicked away possession in their 22 about 5 times?

Utterly brain dead.

If you are Captained by an thick idiot this will happen.

That was utterly pathetic. Drop smith. Dombrand was diabolical, freddie should stop licking everything. Itoje was awful.

That try with 5 missed tackles was a shambles. Scotland the better team by an absolute mile

The core squad is Eddie's selection still sadly.

Borthwick was only allowed to make 5 changes, injury cover and one for one swaps from clubs with a player already in the EPS.

I do think he needs to decide who of Farell and Smith is the fly half and then drop the other one altogether so we can have some proper centres.

Pluses and minuses.

On the plus side:

  • A proper back row at last - ruck speed was good.
  • Some structure in attacj
  • Players looked like they had met before the game and watnted to win it
  • Chessum

Minus:

  • defence structure
  • Tackling
  • Farrell at centre
  • Scrum

Sinfield will fix the first two over time.

The third is a real quandary.  He can't play Faz at flyhalf - otherwise what's the post of Nick Evans?  And he seems undroppabel for some reason.  Weird.  His kicking was awful and he screws up the defensive system (really badly foe the first try).

As to the 4th:  don't start genge.

Farrell still played about half the game standing at 10.

Which means someone else (a lot of the time, Smith) played half the game at 12.

they need to pick one of them for 10 and play the, at 10 and then put an actual centre at 12.

Would make a big difference.

I don't really understand why Farrell is so undroppable. He's clearly a good leader but if results aren't following and his kicking/general performance is poor, then it makes more sense to give Smith the keys.

I think Sinkler is more of a liability than Genge at the scrum. There was one pen against Genge that had nothing to do with him - it was Sinkler that went down first.

I wasn't near enough to tell but cole seemed to sort the scrum right out when he came on.

Farrell or Smith . At this point I don't care who gets dropped but one has to go. It's 80% of the problem
