Dating with Sails

A while since we've done this.  Had a first date with a lady last night which was all good although a little surprised when dropped into conversation that she's been married three times.  On the other hand she's done with marriage and not looking for a fourth husband and I'm fine with that.

Also rather unusually has a tramp stamp of an elephant as that's her favourite animal and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

This is a sailo dating story

Baint no way the trunk went near the junk

Did you inform her that, judging by her responses to you, there was something that felt off - but that you could not put your finger on it?

ngl taking a few goes to get it right is understandable but 3x married and dating is impressive unless you met her on widows-r-us.com (which wouldn’t surprise me tbf tbf)

A woman 3x Divorced, or Widowed early doors, or a combo,  is suggestive of someone who may not turn out to be optimum girlfriend material.

As it's a sailo dating story presumably the trunk was around the front, Wang?

I can't think of a bigger red flag than married x3...she should at least be wedged

and you sound a snob with the tramp stamp comment

sounds a fvckin disaster tbf

Not bothered about her wedge status but very happy with someone who has no intention of getting married again.  Also no issue with someone who’s made their mistakes and now just happy to go Trump and FAFO.

The stamp is a bigger red flag than the 3x marriages

Describe norks.

I think people are skirting around the issue as that is the only reason sailo is feeling all positive about this lady so far.

Remarkable for a lady over 50 who's had three children.

One of my best friends was on her 4th marriage by 43, it happens.

3 x marriage is fine ffs.  She is presumably 50ish.

Yes one mistake as a youngster that didn't last very long, a second that lasted over ten years and produced her first two kids and then a third that lasted another ten years or so and produced her youngest who's now early teens.

she's been married three times

-What happened to the first husband?

-Died from eating toxic mushrooms.

-And the second?

-Died from eating toxic mushrooms.

-The third?  Toxic mushrooms too?

-No, fractured skull.

-How did that happen?

-Wouldn't eat the mushrooms.

I imagine the proportion of tattoos that fall into the category "seemed like a good idea at the time" is about 90%.

Weird that 3 marriages is a lot, 3 relationships of that length would be totally unremarkable. Presume she likes wedding cake.

I did check they weren't under her patio or hot tub and she assured me they're all alive and well.  Obviously a black widow would say that...

My former husband has been married three times.

I was the second wife (who divorced him).

I find it difficult to believe she does not want marriage again, she clearly likes being married.

Snow- I don’t know, I’m sure a couple who had been together for 10 years and not married would frequently be asked why they aren’t married.

17 years and not married. Probably will et round to it. For tax reasons.

tbf I have  been married 3 times but luckily only divorced twice … my learning style is that I learn by doing which is a bit pants when it comes to being married

this time 22 years and counting

i doubt that I could be arsed again if it came to it

Mr Fox and I are not married, I find the concept a bit dated. I happily celebrate the marriages and divorces of friends but it's not something I want to take part in.

buzzard is a ledge in that regard. Snow too, it appears.

of course they wouldn't!

More protection legally when married if you divorce especially when children are involved.

I've been married for almost 35 years. I am 1) old 2) very boring.

The majority of people I know are married.  I am in two minds about doing it again.

When I was younger I never wanted to be married but my ex husband proposed after 6 months and we were married two years later.  I just went with the flow, no idea why and It lasted 13 years.

I do miss being married though (not to him obvs), it feels more secure for many reasons, also the cycle of dating is boring.

Only if you're not the one with the cash LL.

I think most are pretty equal no?

I’m sure a couple who had been together for 10 years and not married would frequently be asked why they aren’t married

We've been together 20 years and the only instance of this I can recall was a question from a 6 year old.

Top Trumps for the Win!

if i'd managed to stay married to the first person i married i'd be coming up to 24 years.  christ.

Not sure how I’ll ever marry again if I can’t bring myself to date again!

Sails what did you do for your first date with the new lady?

Simply went round to hers for a glass of wine and some snacks.

Sailo doesn't break out the Nandos loyalty card until date 3, when he knows she's a keeper

I wouldn't invite a stranger to mine on a first date.
