"in the coming weeks"

When they say the public sector is lazy and slow are they looking in a mirror?

Supply side reform means binning thr Northern Ireland Protocol Bill and ironing out the wrinkles with the EU.

A few weeks means a few months, unless Germany gets on board now they've lost Nordstream Both.

Yup wide spread cuts will be announced. Why do they need to wait weeks though - surely they already have a list of things to get rid of. Time isn’t of the essence apparently

Johnny, I would count them as the working. The implication was that these were long term tax eaters.

What about the long-term tax dodgers, and the huge offshore industry that enables them?

I'm sure we can agree that the govt. can do a lot to recoup losses from these non-contributing members of society?

Everyone should pay their lawful taxes Johnny, certainly. The govt have run three or four disclosure/settlement windows now re offshore and they never raise anywhere near what’s expected. The idea that there’s millions in uk taxes to be raised by tackling offshore evasion is simply a myth I’m afraid

Fancy that, when the disclosure window opens the cupboard is suddenly bare!

I am reminded of the time the head of Corp Legal in a large UK PLC happily told me about the sweet deal they had with the Lux govt. whereby they were allowed to shift huge amounts of assets out on the eve of a tax declaration date, and back in again the day after. Just one tiny example of such ratfūckery, all done perfectly legally.

Are there chimp? I’m not really sure

jonny, the disclosure facilities have essentially been limited amnesties coupled with very high fines for non disclosure. Maybe people just aren’t worried. But with crs/fatca disclosure there’s nowhere to hide income

The nhs should definitely be prioritizing the healthcare need of the working over the non working.

In a storied rof career of ludicrously ill informed statements, epic self-pwns and trollfaced shitposts, this has to be up there among the dumbest in all categories.

Virtuoso stuff. Riskys hand of god moment.

You’ve got cancer? Sorry to hear, we can definitely try to sort that ou - oh wait you’re retired? Sorry, get the fook out of the way, a bloke who spends his life setting up offshore tax wheezes has got an uncomfortable genital rash and we have to prioritise that for some reason

To be clear, the comment about 20% of over-50 non-workers being on NHS waiting lists was meant to imply that the biggest bottleneck in Britain's productivity is our rotting public services and cuts will only make this problem worse.

I don’t use nhs resources chimp, but that’s the general picture. Many of you on here including you and royalty would be happy taxing the elderly more. This is a variant of that: they can pay for private healthcare if they wish
