Saw an supermarket ad last night with offers for starters for Christmas. Do you bother with a starter or are you more of a fan of diving straight into turkey with a pile or roast potatoes and half a several pigs in blankets?
I usually do something super simple like a few prawns with a bit of salad or smoked salmon on brown bread just to take the edge off people's hunger so they don't moan at me to hurry up while I am plating up the main event.
I've got to wait until 7pm for dinner this year so will no doubt graze on smoked salmon and bread through the day to keep me going. Can't eat too much though as joining friends for Christmas dinner who are renowned for their generous portions when entertaining.
