Now that the dust has settled and the national hysteria at an end, can I ask if anyone else found the old bugger annoying? More annoying was the ridiculous forced fawning of course.
And his "tomorrow's a good day" catchphrase made no sense at all but yet it was hailed as some profound insight into the meaning of life itself.
What's the big deal about an old man going for a walk every day anyway?

His catchprhase makes plenty of sense. Those of us who always look for the positives in life are generally happier and more relaxed than those who are always prepared for doom.

tomorrow was never a good day during the period he was around to say it tbf

Why didn't they promote him to Major FFS? It's the next rank up.

I think he was perfectly fine but I find this habit of "aw isn't he cute"-ing old people weird

fook off you uteer aunt. He was a living legend, a national treasure, and an inspiration. The best of British.
And his daughters, especially the lovely Hannah, are role models for society. Models citizens the lot of them.
How can anyone say such a auntish thing?
I for one am already preparing for the 30th - Capt Tom memorial day.

You should be saving the vitriol for that Dutch woman who inflicted the clap on everyone

This has made me really angry and sad. How can anyone not love Capt Tom and his multi-generational loving close family?
I don't know how I can focus on my work now, TBH.

"tomorrow is a good day" is a great phrase.
I can see why the weak and meek don't like it though, rather had a pity party instead of enjoying their lives.

I have horrible visions of Crypto at home self-pleasuring over photos of the daughter that he's cut out Hello and the like.

He was fine, but I always thought he was like Peter Sellers in his last film, being there:

Brilliant film. A gardener who gave out little saying and was mistaken for an economic genius.

I’m reminded of the term “deepity”

You have to bear in mind that he didn’t want or seek out the major publicity. His fundraising effort had a modest initial target it just caught the attention of the media and snowballed. You can hardly blame him for that. I agree it was hugely overhyped by the world’s media but that was hardly his fault. He was just a nice, kind, gentle old man doing what he could to make a difference.
I like the idea of his catchphrase, he was just trying to get a bit of positivity going which I think can only be a good thing.

I dunno "tomorrow is a good day" is a weird fate tempting thing to say even when one is not 100

It was a good day when he went to Barbados in first class.
It was even better day if Hannah wore a bikkini whilst there.

Anyone who engages with this ludicrous pantomine at the end of the month is clearly a complete simpleton, who follows the masses like a lemming.
Crypto - have you self-reported to the GMC yet for senility?

I have come to the conclusion that crypto is not a wind up. I think huffing too much formaldehyde has broken him

Good old Captain Tom.
Part of me is a bit cross with myself that I didn't monetise the AGED P, whose current focus of attention is Stephen Hawking (I think because of that new physics thing).

No I didn't. I still have huge respect for the man. At the young age of 99 he decided to get off his arse and do something to keep his mind busy and carp less. It is a lot easier to moan and bitch. It is a lot tougher to do something about it. He did. For that he is always a winner for me.
I am less enamoured by his family though and the politicians piling in.
