I thought it was Macron who was restoring purpose to The EU. His main problem being that, other than Germany, nobody agrees what that purpose is. 

it makes me sad

she's a good person, and an amazingly capable politician

we need more people like her not fewer

She caused Brexit and history will show she caused the resurgence of political extremism in Germany and more widely in Europe

She has been better at undermining prospects for peace in the west than Putin (perhaps she never stopped working for them after all)

Which is to say, good fooking riddance but too late

In a hundred years time, the legacy of Germany from 1914-2014 will be two world wars and the bankrupting of southern europe.

The question is whether they will learn from any of their history. Their history teaches us that they learn nothing from their history.

Given our two main political parties are varying flavours of socialism, i'd say the future is looking the exact opposite of fascism.

Hungary, Poland, France, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Austria Italy on the other hand.......

....wonder why that is? oh, hang on, maybe it has something to do with Germany
