brexiter brits who troll EU facebook pages

I could kill them all

wtf do they want? these retards need an external enemy, something to unite against, so they hate the EU. boy do I despise them.

UK is leaving so why dn't they just stfu and mind their business

boy do I hate em

I don't get EU fanboys like the OP. I understand people who feel that, despite the democratic deficit and loss of sovereignty, it's a lesser evil to remain inside it, but this adulation of a bunch of grey-suited bureaucrats and their arcane rules is just plain weird.

bureaucrats - one term to put it, the other term is civil servant. it is good to have skilful civil servants, you are bound to find out

and quite frankly, these EU commissioners etc, they are former PMs and foreign secretaries. they could be working for goldman sachs or some such, or for gazprom as former german chancellor schröder does, but they apply themselves for the greater good (drawing an appropriate salary)

the EU is far less corrupted than many european national governments

this adulation of a bunch of grey-suited bureaucrats and their arcane rules is just plain weird

Maybe it's not the bureaucrats and rules that appeal, but the rights and freedoms that come with being in the EU, and the sense of belonging to something bigger than just one small and pretty overrated country?

I must have fallen asleep and missed the part where being a member of the UN gave you the right to live and work across an entire continent and pretty much do anything you like bar vote in those countries. My mistake.

Anna is right in her 10.26 post.  Tarquin will no longer have complete freedom to frig turkeys in Latvia post Brexit.  Supes will be unable to try that tricky 4th knuckle into the ortolan. sad times

And Nigel Lawson has apparently been denied a titre de séjour by the French authorities on the grounds that he is not a permanent resident of France.

Ha-fooking-ha, fookface.

So the UDHR - 70 years ago and how did this have an actual beneficial effect upon the lives of British people?

I mean it is nice to have and all, but I don’t see exactly how it puts British people in jobs.

Any more recent and concrete examples?

See that's the problem. For brexiteers the Entity is the people who can control it and it's unfathomable to have a forrin in charge

For normals it's what you get from the Entity, i.e. a bunch of new rights and freedoms and opportunities

“most people outside the UK think exactly that...”

By most people, do you mean most people who have expressed a view or actually most of the people in the world?

Yes wang, I can see how my abbreviation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (employed 3 posts previously) to the commonly used UDHR might confuse.......oh wait, no one actually.

I think she's saying that most people don't give a flying fig about the UK (which I would agree with)

I remember being an international student in 2002 and views ranged from "you're infrastructure is a bit rubbish" to "is Wales the one in the separate island"?

Mild contempt has been the status quo for some time.

It's fake self deprecation though, isn't it? We pretend to do ourselves down whilst not-so-secretly believing ourselves to be better than everyone else. In the same way that the French moan incessantly about everything but still believe that France is better than everywhere else.

"Mild contempt has been the status quo for some time."

AND THAT Clergs is NOT TRUE

I myself, and many continentals, in particular germans, used to be anglophile. we are now shocked and overwhelmed by disgust and disbelief

I have some points to make!

1. Anglophile is a very triggering word for me, a non-anglo Briton (!)

2. Cmon, it's only some Britons. We don't go around hating Germany because of Chemnitz!

3. The EU is not a flawless institution. In the past I have opposed membership, so I can sympathise with some of the reasons for wanting to leave. I think it would have been better to reform from within but Germany and Austria (tsk!) made that quite difficult on more than one occasion.

what these people express is not an opinion

you know, they have their shitty little hate pages, why can they not stay there

on guy verhofstadt's facebook, people wanna discuss actual problems and ideas n all, we don't need and do not want dux types there with their asinine repetitive bullshit about EU gangsters and such

OK?

well clergs I would not have a problem with you posting an actual (and informed) opinion there

what I describe and complain about is just destructive and pathetic and makes a feller lose respect

the EU as the new nazi. have no enemies? invent some!

The trouble is that successive governments have used "we can't/have to because EU" as a policy excuse for decades. Often they were lying but people believed it and therefore blamed the EU for local issues affecting their housing, consumption options, red tape on their businesses etc etc.

If only at the time we had had systems in place to prevent that.

Ofc we are now paying the price for a constitution so weak that it is functionally reliant on the EU. It probably does us good to be forced to get our house in order.

he's a bit left wing but knowledgable and not contemptible

british society on the other hand...

if you can name a FB page or similar where I can sensibly discuss issues regarding the EU and its development, tell me about it

don't give me any "what are YOU greasy continental/hun doing on OUR precious message board" when fooking brits invade any EU facebook group that tries to have a sensible discussion and try and stifle such debate

she has a beautiful name

from the scene in pulp fiction where the amateurs rob the breakfast joint with travolta and hntington sitting there

"JOlanda! point the gun at me!"

OK, so what's the conclusion on this one? DD gets to continue slagging off British society and saying he wants to kill everyone and Brits get to keep writing bollox on EU Facebook pages? Is that the final offer?
