The Boys finale

All a bit meh IMHO. Some weird scenes too.

Weirdness on The Boys is pretty standard fayre!

I liked it all, a lot.

Especially Queen Maeve.  Oh yes.  Not technically in the finale I know, but still worth mentioning.

The problem with these things, see also GoT, is there’s so much gore as they go along that no amount more of it in a finale really lands. Like the comics it’s perma set piece rinse and repeat. Dull really.

They should have done Homelander like Vic Mackey in The Shield. Alive, but trapped in his own Hell.

Actually never mind, he'd have just taken more V and got his powers back.

The finale was not as crap as the last TWO seasons. It was however rushed as feck and, after five seasons of potential scorched earth, the boys just waltz into the White House and there was a bar fight leading to Homelanders sad demise.

  1. The entire season has been just setting up Vought Rising.  I have a pulse, and no woman is going to object to more Jensen Ackles, but he Soldier Boy was totally retconned.  Season 3, he emerges and immediately goes to kill Crimson Countess because he was soooo in love with her and she betrayed him.  Season 5 and Stormfront is his true love and he gives Homelander the V because "she would have wanted it".  They then just choke him out and he misses the finale back in stasis.
  2. Black Noir can fly and has just punched a hole in an underwater tanker, apparently though a veg knife will take him out.... why didn't he just fly up and back the deep off?
  3. The deep should have carked it much earlier, we knew it was death by fishes (but again, he's suddenly capable of being killed by a shoal of fish despite being a soup and he just splashes about, he could have thrown them all onto shore).
  4. Kimiko speaking was the WORST, just dick jokes and chatter, she was just annoying.  That meant I ceased to care about Frenchie at all.
  5. MM just had no storyline, he was little more than an extra.
  6. Hughie and Starlight.... we still have supes and Hughie just goes back to his tech company despite knowing Vought will manipulate again.  Starlight at least was crime fighting.
  7. As for Homelander, 60 seconds of anguish and he's toast to allow 20 minutes of happy ever after.  He wasn't the focus of the episode, he was a bit player.
  8. As for Butcher, didn't care at all.  By the time they'd magically appeared in the tower, I was over it.
  9. Sister Sage should have died.  She does evil things and it's happy ever after for he.
  10. Nothing was ultimately resolved.  What was the message.  Live with hidden oligarchy because it's better than open dictatorship?
  11. Even Terror died off screen and what a waste of screen time bothering with Gen V.
  12. Shit last two seasons sadly
  13.

This reeked of no budget and Kripke has form for blowing his budgets .
