Two members of staff at Taylor Wessing have tested positive for coronavirus.

A Taylor Wessing spokeswoman confirmed that "one of our London-based colleagues and a colleague based in Frankfurt tested positive for COVID-19. Both individuals have been self-isolating, have had mild reactions are recovering well at home". The spokeswoman listed many sensible measures that the firm was taking, including "our UK-based teams in London, Liverpool and Cambridge working remotely." 

After Baker McKenzie shut its London office a couple of weeks ago following a suspected case, the firm had a second suspected infection last Friday.   

"Our priority as always has been the health and wellbeing of our people", a Baker McKenzie spokesman told RollOnFriday. "Late last Friday afternoon (13 March) we closed the third floor of our London office while one of our people self-isolated after feeling unwell following contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case."

"The individual had limited contact with other colleagues in the office who, as a precaution, were all notified," Bakers spokesman added. "The third floor was deep cleaned over the weekend and subsequently with the rapidly changing landscape in the UK we announced to our people on Sunday that we would move to remote working from Monday".  He said "we have a well-established agile working programme - including technology and IT systems for home working.”

A source told RollOnFriday that "someone on the 8th floor of Linklaters' office has been suspected and/or contracted the COVID-19" on Monday. The source added that "all staff were told to work from home". A spokesman for the Magic Circle firm confirmed to RollOnFriday that "one of our colleagues fell unwell and had self-isolated." 

"In light of the situation across the world, we had already increased the frequency of cleaning efforts across the office to ensure the health and safety of our people and clients," said the spokesman. 

"Since then, we moved to a full remote working arrangement for our London office until further notice. This will be reviewed in two weeks’ time. A small team will continue to operate in the London office to maintain essential client services." The spokesman added that "our ability to work remotely is well tested".

Staff at US firms Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and Lewis Garbuz have also tested positive for COVID-19.
